School Director
Dr. Kate Zhang is an educator and education executive. She taught Mandarin Chinese at the Miami Mandarin Chinese School and previously taught Mandarin at ISAAC Academy in Miami Springs, Florida.
Dr. Zhang earned her Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning with an interdisciplinary focus in special education and mathematics education from the University of Miami. She earned an M.S. in developmental and educational psychology from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China. She served on the board of the Chinese Language Teachers Association-Florida.

Lead Teacher
Dr. Xiao is Applications Business Analyst and Mandarin Chinese teacher. She taught Mandarin Chinese at the Pinecrest Community Center, Miami Chinese Weekend School, and Tallahassee Chinese Weekend School. She has taught Mandarin Chinese more than 20 years in oversea. The age groups which she taught are from kindergarten to adults.
Dr. Xiao earned her Ph.D in Chinese Philosophy from Central China Normal University. Her research focus on comparative Chinese kinship with other languages, special English, Spanish, and Chinese dialects, in culture, culture influence, vocabulary and grammar structures, translation, etc. She holds two master’s degrees in civil engineering and computer science from Dalhousie University in Canada. She has served as member of board of the Chinese Language Teacher Association-Florida for several terms.
Assistant Director
Lucy Liu has served as Chinese School Treasurer in south Florida since 2010. She is a licensed CPA and CFA and received her MBA from University of Miami Herbert Business School.
With a profound commitment to helping kids who want to learn Chinese receives the education they deserve, Lucy Liu brings a wealth of experience and passion to her role as a Treasurer. Her extensive career, spanning over 20 years in finance and accounting, uniquely positions her to support the operations of Chinese School.
Teacher
Ona Li is a dedicated Chinese language teacher with a master’s degree, who teaches both adults and children with a unique and holistic approach. For adults, she integrates historical and cultural contexts with the origins of Chinese characters, providing a deep understanding of the 5000-year-old culture behind the language. This method not only helps students in daily conversations but also equips them with the ability to self-learn Chinese. For children, Ona designs engaging word games tailored to their age, making learning enjoyable and interactive.
Her goal is to instill a love for the language and create a positive learning experience. Ona Li’s teaching philosophy revolves around making language learning immersive and enjoyable, blending linguistic skills with cultural insights to offer a comprehensive educational experience.
Marketing Director
Allison Zhang is the Marketing Director for Littlefeather Chinese School. With a Master’s degree in Marketing Analytics from the University of Clark and 10 years of professional experience, Allison brings a deep understanding of strategy, creativity, and community engagement to her role.
At Littlefeather, Allison Zhang’s work focuses on raising awareness about the benefits of learning Chinese and the unique programs the school offers. She develops tailored marketing campaigns, builds partnerships with local organizations, and leverages both traditional and digital marketing platforms to highlight the vibrant learning environment at Littlefeather. Through innovative marketing strategies, she promote our school and expand our reach, ensuring Littlefeather is a welcoming destination for language learners of all backgrounds.
