Events at Little Feather Chinese School
At Little Feather Chinese School in Miami, we believe that language comes to life when students have the opportunity to connect what they learn with real-world experiences.
Our school year is filled with special events that allow students to practice Mandarin, express creativity, and explore Chinese culture in fun and meaningful ways.
Event: End-of-Semester Student Performance
Student performances, twice a year, are an important part of learning at Little Feather Chinese School.
Through the performances, students have the opportunity to apply what they have learned in a meaningful and expressive way.
These showcases include:
🎵 Songs and Music – Children sing Chinese nursery rhymes and folk songs, helping them develop listening and speaking skills.
📖 Poetry Recitation – Students confidently recite famous Tang poems and modern verses, building fluency and understanding of Chinese literature.
🎹 Instrumental Performances – Talented students share their piano pieces, often performing music they’ve learned in Chinese.
💃 Group Dance – In traditional and modern costumes, our classes collaborate on group dances that reflect Chinese stories and seasonal themes.
These performance highlights students’ progress in Mandarin listening, speaking, and reading, while also building confidence, presentation skills, and teamwork. From songs and dialogues to short performances, each event reflects steady growth and joyful learning.
We believe that performing is not about perfection, but about participation, effort, and pride in learning. These moments allow students to celebrate their achievements and share their learning journey with families and the school community.
Event: Community & Cultural Activities
Beyond our school walls, we bring Chinese language and culture into the Miami community through various events:
🧧 Chinese New Year Celebrations – Our students and families come together to celebrate with crafts, food, calligraphy, and cultural games.
🎉 Asian Heritage Festivals – We participate in community festivals where children perform on public stages and help others learn about Chinese traditions.
🐉 Holiday Activities – From Dragon Boat Festival crafts to Mid-Autumn storytelling, we weave Chinese holidays into our school calendar all year long.
These events give our students a chance to use Mandarin in real-life situations, connect with others, and deepen their sense of cultural identity.
At Little Feather Chinese School, learning Mandarin is joyful, expressive, and rooted in real connection. Join our growing Miami community and experience the difference!
